 Couples Therapy

Intimate relationships are some of the most powerful forces in our lives. Feeling close with another person, creating a life together and sharing ourselves completely are some of the things that make us feel the most alive and happy.

It is for exactly this positive reason that, when things aren't quite right in those relationships, it can cause a ripple effect of emotional turmoil, misunderstandings, difficult communication and pain.

Therapeutic intervention at times like this, when members of a couple feel distant from or unhappy with their partner, can be invaluable. In my role as a couples therapist I serve as a facilitator to communication, teaching skills to shift out of negative cycles.

Often, once individuals are able to share their feelings in a way their partner can hear, they are able to close the distance between themselves and explore the shape of their relationship to ensure more successes in the future.

Individual Therapy

The goal of individual psychotherapy is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to focus on and work towards goals in your life. Some people seek counseling at times of crisis, in the hopes of reducing the impact of painful situations on their daily life, relationships and level of functioning. Sometimes support is sought to speed recovery from these crises.

Another common purpose of psychotherapy is to create a space where we, in our over-filled lives, can find the time and space to consider where we are in life and where we'd like to go.

Whatever brings you to therapy, I will work flexibly within different modes of treatment to plan a treatment course in line with your goals and at your pace. I have been trained in DBT, CBT, Art Therapy, Holistic Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology and more.

I have experience supporting people through short and long term difficulties including grief, anxiety, anger, PTSD, bi-polar symptoms, parenting issues, difficulty with transitions, stress, gender issues and borderline personality disorder.

Whatever you are struggling with, there is a way to not just cope, but to thrive!
